How do I register for an AFI FEST Elevent account and make ticket selections?

Register for an account in four easy steps:

  1. Register to create your AFI FEST Elevent ticket account here.
  2. Click the link at the end of the registration process for the AFI FEST Film guide.
  3. Select tickets for your screenings.

Please note that only one registration per person is allowed. Ticket selections and accounts will be cancelled without notice if we determine that customers are using different email addresses to get around the limits, and any tickets reserved on that account will not be valid at the theater entrance.

How many tickets can I select using my registered account?

You may select a maximum of ten (10) tickets (with a limit of two (2) tickets per screening), including a maximum of two (2) reservations for Galas.

Your account to select free tickets will be reset when the AT&T Box Office opens on November 4, 2017. At this time, you will be able to log back in to your account and select an additional thirty (30) tickets online or in person.

Do I have to make all my ticket selections at one time? Can I go back into the system later?

You do not have to make all your ticket selections at once. You will be able to log back into your account to select the remainder of your ticket allotment at any time.

How much time do I have to complete my ticket order?

Tickets for each screening or event that you add to your cart will remain active for 30 minutes. You will need to check out within 30 minutes or else the ticket hold will expire.

What if the film I want to see is unavailable?

If the film you want is currently not available, check back every day. New tickets are released every day, throughout the day, from November 1 through November 16. If you can't select tickets to the film you'd like to see, a Rush Line for every screening will begin forming approximately one (1) hour prior to screening time.

Do I need physical tickets, or can you scan my tickets on my smartphone?

To receive a ticket that can be scanned from your smartphone, make sure to select the "Mobile ticket" option during check out. You will receive an email confirmation of your order that contains your mobile tickets.

If you'd like a hard ticket, you may pick them up at the AT&T Box Office beginning November 4 at 10:00 a.m. Please note: If you trade in your mobile ticket for a hard ticket, your mobile ticket will be deactivated.

Where, when and how can I pick up my tickets?

To pick up your tickets, please bring your order confirmation and a photo ID to the AT&T Box Office located on the first floor of Hollywood & Highland Center (suite 107), beginning November 5.

Can I print my mobile tickets at home?

Yes, you may print your mobile tickets at home beforehand. Make sure to select the "Mobile ticket" option during check out. You must have your ticket with you before entering the theater. If you lose your printed ticket, we can scan your ticket from the email confirmation containing your mobile tickets.

Once I have my ticket does that guarantee me a seat at the screening?

Tickets do not guarantee admission for screenings. Please arrive to theater early, as ques will be handing out at one (1) hour before the screening.

What is a Gala Voucher?

A Gala Voucher is a reservation for a place in the general line for one of our Gala screenings. The Gala Voucher does not guarantee admission to the Gala screening. Your Gala Voucher will be included in your ticket order.

Arrive at your screening early in order to secure a place in line. Lines begin forming one (1) hour prior to screening start time. Hard Gala tickets are distributed to those standing in the Gala Voucher line on a space-available basis. Hard Tickets are distributed at least 15 minutes before the screening, up until the start of a film. Before a hard ticket can be distributed to you, you must be in numerical order with your queue card and have your Gala Voucher ready.

PLEASE NOTE: Queue cards will be distributed to the Gala Voucher line one (1) hour prior to the start of a screening. If you are not in your place in line when the queue cards are distributed, you will be sent to stand in the back of the line until a queue card is distributed to you. Space saving is not permitted. Only one queue card will be issued per person, no exceptions. A queue card does not guarantee entry; it simply holds your place in line.

What time should I arrive to pick up my tickets and get a seat?

To avoid the long lines at the AT&T Box Office so that you don't miss your screening, remember to pick up your tickets no later than two (2) hours prior to screening time.

Please note that seating is first-come, first-served. You must be seated 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time or your seat will be released. Latecomers are admitted strictly at the discretion of the theater venue staff if there are any seats available. Lines are often long and begin forming one (1) hour prior to screening time, so please plan on arriving early to get in line.

Are backpacks allowed in screenings?

No. Backpacks, briefcases, and any large bags or purses will not be allowed in theaters. Please leave them at home or in your car. All patrons are subject to a security check while on premises. Knives, pocketknives, tools, metal objects or weapons of any kind will not be permitted at any participating AFI venues. AFI Staff and our venue staff reserve the right to refuse admittance to any individual for any reason at any time. Failure to comply with any of the above mentioned security guidelines and conditions of attendance will result in festival attendee's immediate removal from the premises. If at any time you feel like you are part of or are in observation of an unsafe situation, please immediately alert the first security staff person you see, or otherwise communicate the situation.

How does the Rush Line work?

We like to ensure that every seat in every theater is taken, so prior to the start of each film, if there are still any seats available after pass and ticket holders have entered, they become available to guests who have waited in the Rush Line. It's a very successful way to see some of the films when tickets are not available.

Patrons check in with the Rush Line at least one (1) hour before scheduled screening time. Patrons will add their names to the Rush Line list on a first-come, first-served basis. All members of your party must be present at this time in order to be added to the Rush Line list. Patrons must return to the Rush Line no later than 15 minutes before scheduled screening time. At that time, if there are seats available, the Rush Line will be allowed to enter the venue in the order they signed up.

Is there a limit to the number of tickets I can get? What if I'm attending with a large group?

In order to ensure fair distribution of tickets during the festival, each account may only select a maximum of 10 tickets when online ticket selection begins on November 1st. Once the AT&T Box Office opens to the public on November 5th, you may select an additional 30 tickets for a maximum of 40 tickets total including a maximum of four (4) Gala Vouchers.

How do I become an AFI Member?

All current AFI members have the opportunity to receive an AFI FEST 2017 Cinepass. To skip the ticket selection process and long lines at the Box Office, become a member HERE.

The Cinepass includes admission for one (1) to all regular screenings and events including Special Screenings, Conversations, Presentations and the Tech Showcase, subject to seating availability. This pass does NOT grant access to Galas. The Cinepass also includes access for one (1) to the VIZIO Lounge and the Cinema Lounge at The Hollywood Roosevelt on a space-available basis (excluding Gala after-parties and private receptions).

Lingo

Queue Card

Pass and ticket holders will receive a numbered queue card to help facilitate line control and ensure that you do not lose your spot in line.

Theater managers will start distributing queue cards one (1) hour before the scheduled screening start time and will be handed out until the theater seating capacity is met. Once all of a screening's queue cards have been dispersed, any new line-joiners will be directed to the Rush Line and will only be allowed into the theater on a space-available basis.

You cannot get a queue card for a guest not physically present in line and you will not be allowed to enter the theater without a queue card and a ticket or pass. A queue card does not guarantee entry; it simply holds your place in line.

Rush Line

A Rush Line will be indicated at each venue for all non-ticketed holders looking for last minute tickets. Entrance will begin anytime from 10 minutes before the scheduled screening time up until the start of the film, based on availability. There is a limit of one ticket per person.

Priority Admission

The Priority Admission line is designated for pass holders with a gold, silver or bronze pass. To purchase or learn more about passes with priority admission click HERE.
